The new Government services complex and Services Centre of Ministry of Interior (MoI) was opened at The Pearl, on 29 March. The complex was inaugurated by Brigadier Muhammad Ahmad Al Ateeq, Director General of the General Directorate of Passports in the presence of directors of departments at MoI and representatives of Ministries, Government bodies and United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar.

Several services of the Passports and other seven Ministries will be available at the new complex. All services of Passports will be available in the Pearl Services Centre. For now, the centre will be open only in the morning, from 7 am – 1 pm and the work in two shifts will be determined after assessment.

Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Al Sobaie, Director of Consular Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Pearl Government Services Centre was 11th of its kind in the State. The centre will provide several services of the Ministry for citizens and residents such as documents attestation and notarial certification.

The Director of Services Complex Department at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Muslim Muhammad Al Rashidee said that the new centre will provide services of seven ministries including MADLSA, Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Economy and Commerce, Education and Higher Education and Kahrama.

The new services centre will operate over two floors. The ground floor is for the services of other ministries and the first floor is set for services of the Ministry of Interior. The centre has been facilitated with spacious hall and special areas for people with special needs and 16 counters that can complete the services within shorter time frames. Special offices have been facilitated to provide services of Nationality Department for men and women separately.
