United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan islands, took part in the Earth Hour initiative last Saturday by switching off unnecessary lights from 8:30 pm-9:30 pm.

The switch-off covered Porto Arabia boardwalk, Qanat Quartier and Medina Centrale retail areas and UDC Tower.

Earth Hour, the largest climate support initiative of its kind, aims to draw attention to and raise awareness of the risks of climate change by encouraging participants to switch off lights for one hour on the last Saturday of March.
