After thrilling attendees and athletes for nearly two weeks, the highly-charged Ramadan Sports Festival (RSF) by Aspire Zone Foundation drew the curtains Wednesday 8th August with the final of the Football leg of the tournament.
The Men’s Football Tournament was amongst the most popular of the multi-sport Festival, which also featured Basketball and Volleyball. Getting underway on 18th July, with 16 participating teams featuring diverse nationalities, including Qataris, Egyptians and Canadians, the Festival became one of the largest community sport events of the year.
The Ramadan Sports Festival has grown considerably since the inaugural event in 2011 and this year’s edition catered to the whole community. Due to popular demand, a collection of women’s sports were incorporated into this year’s festivities. The additions were a testament to the rise in interest women’s sports in Qatar and a demonstration of Aspire Zone’s ongoing commitment to encourage female members of the public to take part in sporting activities.
The Aspire Zone Ramadan Sports Festival was organised by Aspire Logistics as part of its commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle to the community.
