BINGE WATCH THIS:

Ever wondered what happens if Peggy Carter was given the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers? Or what if our favourite Marvel heroes became Zombies?

These and more will be answered by What if…? the first animated series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that poses alternative scenarios to pivotal MCU moments. The 10-part series premiering this Wednesday, 11 August, on Disney Plus aims to answer the titular question and give fans a unique perspective on the much-loved Marvel universe. The voice cast is also extremely impressive with the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman and Tom Hiddleston all reprising their MCU roles.

Each What If…? episode is released weekly. While you wait, sit back and enjoy other shows like Cooking with Paris on Netflix.

GET THE POPCORN FOR THIS:

Wildy acclaimed film CODA is premiering on Apple TV+ this weekend. CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) is a heart-tugging coming-of-age dramedy directed by Sian Heder that swept awards during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The film follows the story of 17-year-old Ruby who is the only member of her family who is able to hear. Her life revolves around serving as an interpreter for her parents and working on the family’s struggling fishing boat every day before school. But when Ruby joins her high school’s choir club, she discovers a gift for singing. Ruby is encouraged to apply to a prestigious music school. However, she finds herself torn between taking care of her family and chasing her dreams.

CODA stands as the biggest Sundance acquisition ever, courtesy of Apple, which picked it up for USD25 million. Available to stream 13 August.

SETTLE IN WITH A CUP OF TEA AND READ THIS:

Her Heart For A Compass is a debut novel of Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. The novel tells a fictional account of the life and love story of the Duchess’ great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott. Mills & Boon have described the novel as an ‘immersive historical saga’ and Ferguson has said much of the novel takes inspiration from her own life, too. If you love following the royals — or just really miss ‘The Crown’, ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Downton Abbey’ — you’ll want to dive into this coming-of-age story set in Victorian England.

CRANK UP THE VOLUME FOR THIS:

Due out 13 August, Pressure Machine is The Killers’ seventh studio album, and the follow-up to 2020’s Imploding the Mirage. The album features 11 tracks and is described as a view into the ‘everyday realities of a small American town with a stark, tough beauty, and The Killers’ most restrained and resonant album yet.’ Check out the album preview below:
