‘The Morning Star’
Karl Ove Knausgaard

Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgaard’s latest novel after his My Struggle cycle follows nine characters grappling with the challenges of everyday life, which seem to be worsened by a mysteriously bright star. Divided into three parts, the haunting novel alternates between the first-person accounts of the characters including a priest stuck in an unfulfilling marriage and a literature professor struggling to care for his wife and a psychiatric unit nurse who had a patient who escaped. They all struggle to hold their lives together as their worlds become unnerving, then creepy, then worse.
