Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s national flag carrier, won two significant awards at the annual TravelPlus Awards held in Hamburg on 8 April.
Turkish Airlines won the top prize in the ‘Most Innovative Kit’ category for its ‘Umrah Amenity Kit’ specially presented to its passengers on an umrah pilgrimage. The kit contains a range of items specially designed to ensure the maximum comfort of pilgrims during their flight as well as at their destination.
Turkish Airlines was awarded in this category for the second consecutive year. In 2013, the airline was awarded the top prize for its ‘Hajj Pilgrimage Kit’ specially designed for passengers on the annual pilgrimage to Mecca. Both specially designed kits were supplied to Turkish Airlines by FORMIA, the international guest amenity and hospitality specialist.
The second award Turkish Airlines won this year was the ‘Trio Amenity Kit’ presented to Comfort Class passengers. The kit is a set of three bags that maintain novelty for passengers through regular rotation combined with cosmetics by the renowned German brand Bogner.
Turkish airlines have been awarded to ‘Gold’ status by its hygiene kit; its eco-friendly compostable packs used for blanket and earphones; natural toy kits specially designed for child passengers; inflight entertainment system PLANET with its mind relaxing content enabling passengers to experience a comfortable flight.
Turkish Airlines Chief Commercial Officer, Akif Konar, commented on the award ceremony:

Categories have been determined in line with the pandemic period by taking new standards in ‘Hygiene’, ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Wellness’ fields into consideration.
