The latest Doha Debate was held in Istanbul, Turkey on the 12th of February. They were debating whether or not Turkey is a good model for the new Arab states.

59% of the audience said no, but a new poll commissioned by the Doha Debates, who are hosted and funded by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has shown the opposite. 72% respondents to the poll, which questioned over 1000 people, believe that post-revolutionary states including Egypt, Tunisia and Libya should model their new states on Turkey. The next Doha Debates is on Monday 27th at 7:30pm at Georgetown University and the motion is ‘This House believes women will be worse off after the Arab Revolutions.’
