Turkish Airlines is once again offering Touristanbul – one of its privileged services to guests – a complimentary city tour for transit passengers that also aims to promote the unique wonders of İstanbul to the world.

With the complimentary city tour, Turkish Airlines guests with a connecting time between six-to-24- hours in İstanbul Airport, eligible passengers will have the opportunity to discover İstanbul’s historical and cultural wonders such as the Sultanahmet Mosque, Ayasofya Mosque and the Topkapı Palace.

Under the programme, passengers are picked-up from İstanbul Airport by the Touristanbul vehicle. They will then attend the İstanbul tour accompanied by a guide and brought back to the airport for the next leg of their flights. Turkish Airlines aims to increase its share in the transit passenger market and contribute to Türkiye’s tourism.

Turkish Airlines Chief Marketing Officer Ahmet Olmuştur said they aim to showcase Turkish hospitality and İstanbul’s unique wonders to guests and contribute to tourism of Türkiye.

Our goal is to increase transfer passenger numbers and our market share with this privileged service.

Touristanbul was suspended in 2020 because of COVID-19. The service, according to Olmuştur, was availed by a total of 349,738 guests since 2019 and they expect approximately 60,000 guests to benefit from Touristanbul privilege until the end of the year.

As citizens of 129 countries are discovering İstanbul with the Touristanbul privilege, the programme is prepared with the consideration of the guests’ flight plan. With six different tours organised every day, passengers are able the choose the one that suits their flight times.
