Q-Auto, the official dealer for Audi in Qatar, announces Simon Davies and Desmond Reid with a total of 37 stableford points as the champions of the Audi quattro Cup 2016 – Doha golf tournament winning on a countback ahead of 5 other teams tied for first position. The sporting competition saw the participation of 72 amateur golfers from across the country, with first place winners qualified to represent Qatar in the Audi quattro Cup World Final held in Spain at the end of the year.
Audi Qatar hosted the event at Doha’s premier golf course, the Doha Golf Club. As part of the tournament, competitors took part in a shotgun round where they showcased some of their best professional golf skills. The event concluded with a special ceremony where the names of finalists were announced. Runner-ups Neil Scully and Stephen Evans also scored 37 stableford points with Nasser Derakhshan and Emad Emadi coming in third place on the same score. A stroke index countback compares the team scores on a like for like basis in the event of a draw starting with the most difficult hole first, the team with the best score on the hardest hole wins. Furthermore, a number of sports goods were also awarded for highest achievements in the tournament for the nearest pin and the longest drives in both the male and female category.
Apart from the sporting activity, the brand drew in a number of onlookers through an Audi model showcase on the course. Vehicles on display included eight premium Audi models including the recently unveiled A4, TT, A8, Q7, S3, and A6.
