The total construction area of close to 800,000m² is expected to cost QR5 billion and will feature retail, leisure, entertainment and luxury spaces, packaged into a one-stop family destination by the sea. The project is being realized by United Developers, led by local investors with expertise in retail, real estate, construction and contracting.
Project Director for Place Vendôme, Sean Kelly, said:
Place Vendôme will be the new center of attraction for residents and visitors seeking a combination of varied entertainment and retail choices in one location. Rising in parallel with the infrastructure in Lusail City, this project will be served by new roads, public transportation, parks and marinas by the date of completion…Project funding is in place and the necessary approvals have been secured to pave the way for continued progress on the development.’
The Place Vendôme project matches the ambition of the State of Qatar, envisioned and realised by the commitment of United Developers to the future. The company is combining world-class standards for building and implementing the project in Qatar using local talent and proficiency. The development will be a groundbreaking example of the entrepreneurship, vision and energy of Qatari commitment to the nation’s development, and will provide a lasting attraction for citizens, residents and visitors in the years ahead.
Situated 11km from the center of Doha, the mixed-use development will host two five-star hotels, serviced apartments, up to 400 different retail outlets, a central entertainment component showcasing permanent attractions, technologically advanced installations and special events. In addition, the retail portion of the development will boast an exclusive section dedicated to unrivaled luxury featuring the most elite brands. Place Vendôme is set to become a new destination for the region, slated for opening in the third quarter of 2017.
Drawing inspiration from the Parisian district of the same name, Place Vendôme will be reminiscent of the famous high-end shopping street in Paris, Rue de la Paix, of which Place Vendôme is the starting point. The architecture is intended to radiate luxury and extravagance while conveying a touch of cultural and artistic feel. The development will feature a canal running through it directly from the sea, seamlessly drawing together the surrounding environment to provide visitors a unique experience.
Place Vendôme is a project aligned with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. It reflects the owners’ commitment to Qatar’s economic diversification as well as human and social development through the opportunities and jobs that the development will create during construction and upon completion.
Additionally, as Lusail City is set to host the stadium for the opening and closing of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™, the project will cater to the needs and desires of visitors by providing access to wide number of services, from accommodation to entertainment with the highest levels of convenience.
