Nostalgia will present music by globally acclaimed violinist and composer MAias Alyamani for string orchestra. MAias Alyamani established the ensemble MAqam in Vienna, specialising in classical Arabic music, and is a member of the Damascus Festival Chamber Players ensemble. She has released four music albums, including “White” with Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a large amount of solo recordings for film music, music bands, live theater and TV soundtracks.

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Tchaikovsky‘s Pathétique Symphony

The performance will feature Tchaikovsky’s final work, Pathétique Symphony No.6 in B Minor, Op. 74. Described as displaying a complex texture of emotion – sorrow, hope and happiness tinged with a foreboding of despair – the symphony is seen by some as a reflection on, and culmination of, the composer’s discordant life.

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Music Series: Tchaikovsky‘s Serenade for Strings

Music from two of the greatest classical composers, Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky, will be performed by Uzbekistan-born violinist Bekirova. Bekirova has won several prizes in music competitions, played with the National Chamber Orchestra Soloists of Uzbekistan as well as performed with orchestras in Europe and in festivals.
