UPS announced the successful same-day international delivery of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar, in support of the country’s fight against the pandemic.

Earlier this week, Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced it had issued the emergency use authorization for the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.

UPS Qatar 3UPS is prepared to continue the delivery of the Pfizer vaccine around the world, as well as future vaccines, as authorisation is granted and services are needed.

UPS Managing Director for Middle East and Indian subcontinent Rachid Fergati, said they are honoured to support Qatar’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our teams have been working around the clock to deliver these temperature sensitive vaccines from Brussels to Qatar-based medical facilities in less than 24 hours.

This is a reflection of our commitment to deliver what matters to people and communities. We have the expertise to meet the demands of the highly regulated, complex requirements of these pharmaceuticals and look forward to collaborating with our global public and private partnerships to distribute the vaccine all over the world.

Qatar has started to roll out the COVID-19 vaccination programme in the country, giving priority to frontline workers, the elderly and individuals suffering from chronic diseases.
