Virtual School Admissions for the 2020/21 school year are now open! Usually, parents would be visiting new schools for their children to attend in September. However, due to the COVID-19 lockdown, visiting schools and meeting with staff and administrators has been put on hold. So how are parents supposed to choose a new school for their kids?
Thankfully many of the wonderful schools in Qatar have adapted to the current situation and are now providing online or virtual services to get all the answers you need before applying. The following list of schools and nurseries are holding virtual admissions, tours and e-meetings to answer all your questions and queries.
Acorn Nursery
Acorn Nurseries is a group of premium British-managed, EYFS curriculum early learning centres in Qatar for children aged 2 months to 4 years of age. Acorn Nursery is one of the best EYFS nursery’s in Qatar, operating to international standards and employing qualified staff with relevant UK experience.

Nothing can replace a face-to-face visit and tour of the school – but with school closures and travel restrictions around the world, a Virtual Discovery Meeting at Compass is the next best thing.

The Doha British School Ain Khaled Campus is now accepting applications for the Academic Year 2020-2021. Admissions are open for all year groups from pre-school to Year 13. You can now apply for admission to DBS through their online Admissions Process.

Online Courses for Kids:
In addition to signing your kids up for the 2020-21 school year, you might want to give them a head start this summer by signing them up for some online courses.
British Council
Primary Plus Online was developed by a team of English experts, to spark your child’s imagination, so they can express themselves with a confidence that goes beyond their English language skills. The courses range from one-week to six-weeks in length with Immersive classes with expert teachers to boost English speaking skills for kids aged 6 – 11 years old.
Secondary Plus Online are classes to learn English for teens aged 12-17 years old. Kids will attend live online classes with British Council teachers and study independently on their interactive platform.

The Summer Programme 2020 is an intensive three-week online course for high school students, which has an optional one week of portfolio development classes.
