Virtuocity, Qatar’s premier gaming and e-Sports venue, has partnered with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) for its Summer in Qatar programme, an e-Gaming Festival with players competing for cash prizes worth QAR60,000. The festival started last week, and will run until 10 August at Doha Festival City.

The Gaming Festival brings world class digital gaming experiences to Qatar, with HADO’s augmented reality sporting experiences and mobile e-sport gaming. Players and fans can step into a virtual world with the Racer and Enigma Tournaments, and browse the artists’ gallery where local talents will be on display along with novel gaming and animé collectibles. Budding singers can also take the mic at Karaoke night on 27-28 June, with songs from animé films and cartoons. Gaming will begin on 5 July with Fighting Games Tournament (FGC), followed by an Overwatch Tournament (12-13 July), CS:GO Tournament (19-20 July), and FIFA Tournament (26-27 July).

The semi-finals and finals for all three tournaments will be held from 8 to 10 August. The festivities will also include a Cosplay Parade (8 August) and competition (9 August) with closing ceremonies on 10 August.

Virtuocity boasts 4,500 square metres of space. Under the Summer in Qatar programme, Virtuocity will offer a mobile e-sport gaming area, meet and greet events with influencers, partner booths, Qatar e-sport tournaments, workshops, and more. QNTC strives to develop offerings that cater to all interests and promote Qatar as a venue for hosting large e-sports tournaments.

Summer in Qatar is part of QNTC’s strategy to develop Qatar as a year-round family-friendly destination. With partner organisations in retail, hospitality, entertainment and culture, it offers a range of exciting indoor and outdoor experiences, along with entertainment programmes featuring local and international artists, edutainment activities, and summer and sports camps.
