Vodafone Qatar has partnered with Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and QPAY International LLC, to make Vodafone electronic recharge and bill payment services available at select QIB Point of Sales (POS) machines.

Amidst the pandemic, the demand for payment innovation has grown, including customer preferences toward electronic payments for services, such as bill payments. Qatar’s national FinTech Strategy aims to improve digital payment platforms and other services by leveraging the newest technologies.

Vodafone Qatar Chief Operating Officer Diego Camberos said they are pleased to partner with QIB and QPAY to offer Vodafone customers the convenience of accessing Vodafone services in a larger number of outlets. He said that digitalisation underpins their company strategy.

We have established a strong network of retailers across the country that are adopting our digital service offerings in their operations. In turn, such digital transformation has benefits for virtually every kind of business.

QIB Wholesale Banking Group General Manager Tarek Fawzi said that the new solution follows  their digital transformation strategy, offering an easy and secure cashless services.

According to QPAY CEO Nebil Ben Aissa, they are proud of their new partnership with Vodafone. He said that offering 100% cashless applications is a great demonstration of their commitment to digitising Qatari society in line with Qatar 2030 vision.

QIB POS machines accept both credit and debit card payments.

Vodafone Qatar also recently partnered with Ahlibank, allowing customers to recharge and pay their bills using Ahlibank’s online and mobile app. See related news below.
