Doha Marketing Services Company WLL (DOMASCO), the exclusive distributor of Volvo cars in Qatar, held the much-anticipated Volvo World Golf Challenge – Qatar Chapter, recently at the Doha Golf Club. Ninety-two talented golfers joined the event, which was held after five years of absence from Qatar’s market.
This year’s winner, Dean Lavy, sat atop the leaderboard with 42 points and will represent Qatar in the World Final to be held in South Africa on 24 to 29 March. With all expenses paid, an exciting programme awaits Lavy in Fancourt, South Africa’s premier leisure resort, the venue for the tournament. Coming in second was Thomas Aiden with 39 points on countback, followed by Kenza Gilmour in third place with 39 points countback.
According to DOMASCO Managing Director Faisal Sharif, this ever-growing, year-round activity hosted by Volvo dealers all around the world gives golfers the chance to participate in competitive but friendly and professionally-run events at local golf clubs close to home.
With golf and Volvo’s values serving as the perfect common ground, this unbroken partnership has enabled the building and strengthening of relationships between Volvo and its customers of today and tomorrow.’
Amongst the other special prize winners of this year are Kenza Gilmour for longest drive (ladies), Uzma Mir for nearest to the pin (ladies), Thomas Aiden for longest drive (men) and Paul Kelly for nearest to the pin (men).
The event also showcased all the latest Volvo car models available in Qatar, including the XC90, XC40, XC60 and S90.
The Volvo World Golf Program dates back to 1988 with over 1.5 million customers and prospective clients having participated over the years in the Volvo Cup, Volvo Masters Amateur and now the Volvo World Golf Challenge.
