W Doha Brings Google Assistant ‘Interpreter Mode’ to Qatar

W Doha Hotel and Residences this week announced their partnership with Google to launch the first Google Assistant interpreter mode hotel pilot in Qatar. 

The W Doha hotel has implemented a series of hospitality industry firsts in the past years, and this partnership is part of their mission to innovate the hotel experience and to wow guests from their first interaction with the hotel and staff.

W Doha is the first hotel in Qatar to offer guests the Google Assistant real-time translation feature interpreter mode, set to eliminate language or communication barriers. Interpreter mode helps guests translate conversations in 29 languages, so they can better connect with hotel staff to get the most out of their W Doha experience.

The hotel industry is a prime market for live translation capabilities. At W Doha, interpreter mode is being piloted at the concierge and at the welcome desks to offer an enhanced and seamless hotel experience, to ensure that guests are able to communicate their needs in their preferred language so that nothing is lost in translation. Technology is meant to break barriers and enhance the meaningful human connections that are fundamental to the hospitality industry. W Doha continues to make strides to ensure that their guests are at the forefront.

According to W Doha General Manager Wassim Daaje, Qatar has become an extremely popular destination and continues to attract thousands of visitors from all around the globe with its international sporting and cultural events. He said that their partnership with Google is in line with their mission to continue supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 by offering the best services in the tourism sector.
