The West End Park has announced the start of ticket sales from 7 January 2014 for the Qatar International Cricket Women’s Championship. The triangular women’s one-day and Twenty20 championship from 10-24 January 2014, is being organized under the patronage of HE Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali, Minister of Youth and Sports in the State of Qatar.
Addressing a press conference on 7 January 2014, chairman of West End Park, Mana Ibrahim al Mana said preparations at the 12,500-capacity cricket stadium located at the West End Park are complete. He said that the tickets, available in 4 categories, will be available at all leading shopping malls in Doha and Industrial Area, as well at the West End Park.
Teams will compete for precious ICC ranking points ahead of major events such as the ICC Women’s World Cup; ICC Women’s World Twenty/20.

The cricket stadium at the West End Park is a clear evidence of the great efforts made by the State of Qatar in the development of cricket in Qatar. The hosting of the International Cricket Women’s championship demonstrates Qatar’s commitment in patronizing the growth of the sport in Qatar. The tournament is one major step in making the sport popular to all the communities in Qatar.’
Meanwhile, participating teams are set to arrive in Doha to clinch the coveted trophy. The first match of the tournament will see the South African team battle against the Irish team.
