On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Westin Doha Hotel and Spa, in collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), hosted an awareness session for the Westin Doha team, with media figures and influencers to help spread more information about breast cancer.

This year, the awareness session was broadcast live on the hotel’s social media channels, led by QCS, featuring breast cancer survivor Marwa Adel, fitness trainer and sports figure Joelle Lahlouh and dietician Nadine Riachy.

The goal was to provide accurate information about the disease, with Noor from QCS, explaining the methods of prevention and the importance of early detection and screening. Marwa also shared her personal experience and her battle against cancer and its positive effects on her current life. She emphasised the importance of family support to surpass the difficult journey.

Lahlouh, meanwhile, discussed the importance of sports and how it can help individuals avoid illnesses. Sports also support cancer patients and survivors to spread positivity and help them gain back their strength after treatment.

Dietician Nadine Riachi spoke about the importance of healthy lifestyle habits and how eating healthy food can lower the risk of all sorts of cancer. She also discussed the importance of certain food types that can help prevent cancer.

Westin Doha hosted the session in keeping with their new healthy concept, Eat well by Westin. The concept encourages everyone to eat healthy food and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
