The Pre-Summit Festival Will Celebrate Diverse Education Resources in Qatar

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has announced Qatar’s inaugural education festival, Doha Learning Week, set to take place from 10 to 16 November across Doha, and culminating in the 2017 WISE Summit.

Doha Learning Week, the flagship education festival of WISE, is intended to celebrate the various education and learning resources and initiatives in Doha. Held in collaboration with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and supported by other local partners, the event will feature a series of workshops, movie screenings, exhibitions, lectures, performances, tours, and hackathons.

WISE, an initiative of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has already invited students, parents, teachers, and education enthusiasts to join them in exploring, debating, and connecting around the topic of education.

Ameena A Hussain, Director of Programs and Community Development at WISE said the Doha Learning Week is designed to raise awareness among the local community about the great variety of education resources available for the country’s young people and learners of all ages.

Doha Learning Week partners include: the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Education Development Institute, World Innovation Summit for Health, Qatar Career Development Center, QatarDebate, HEC Paris in Qatar, INJAZ Qatar, Shams Generation of Qatar Solar Technologies, Bedaya Center, US Embassy in Qatar, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Teach for Qatar, ibTECHar, SEK International School Qatar, Qatar-Finland International School, Doha British School, Newton Group, Katara, Doha Film Institute, Msheireb Museums – Msheireb Properties, Maktaba, TEDxAlDafnaED, Central Conservatory of Music, and iACT Little Ripples.

The 2017 WISE Summit is under the theme, ‘Co-Exist, Co-Create: Learning to Live and Work Together’, and will be held from 14 to 16 November 2017, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
