With the temperatures rising and school holidays on the horizon,  Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som launches a series of educational summer camps geared towards young adventurers aged 6 – 16.

Whether dedicated to sports, self-development, team building, problem-solving, language, nutrition, yoga, music or dance, each of the 10 summer camps has been designed to promote physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing in school-going kids as they build confidence, explore new passions and brush up on existing skills.

From fitness and culture to emotional intelligence and nutritional education, each camp provides participants with skills and experiences that promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. They also provide an environment where children and teens can develop lifelong habits and values by stepping out of their daily routines and into a world that fosters personal growth, resilience and an appreciation for wellness.

The Zulal Wellness Resort Summer Camps for kids offer an unforgettable escape where children will thrive in a supportive and enriching setting. The young participants can return home with new skills, friendships and a refreshed outlook, ready for the rest of the summer and prepped for the academic school year ahead.

Swim Camp on 19 – 23 June
Participants will learn essential water safety skills, practice swimming drills, develop underwater coordination, and work on their physical fitness levels, allowing them to gain confidence in the water. The camp will also include a variety of team-building activities that foster social interaction. Additional benefits of this swimming camp include improved sleep and deep relaxation.

Thai Boxing Camp 26 – 30 June
Boys and girls will let loose, learn discipline, and build confidence with Muay Thai moves that focus on the body and mind in this kid-proof boxing camp adapted for all ages and abilities. Known as the Science of Eight Limbs, Thai boxing is a martial art which demonstrates technical skill, flexibility, strength, and stamina while honouring and respecting opponents. Cultural awareness and teamwork are integrated into this camp, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience in both sports and life skills.

7 Habits of Happiness on 3 – 7 July
This summer camp has been designed for teenagers by Franklin Covey Education, the team behind the popular 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and instils seven key habits for a happy and successful life. In a workshop setting, with accredited facilitators, participating teens will be guided on positive psychology principles and learn how to develop a growth mindset, practice daily gratitude, and build healthy relationships. 7 Habits of Happy Children also promotes the importance of self-care, effective communication, realistic goal setting and resilience.
Age Group: 13 to 16 years

Dance Camp on 10 – 14 July
Focusing on fitness and flexibility, this camp comprises a week of rhythm and movement combined with expressive communication that will boost confidence and self-esteem. Through Afro beats, Zumba and samba, children will improve coordination and motor skills, enjoy social connection and collaboration, learn outlets for frustration and stress, balance their emotional wellbeing and celebrate body positivity and acceptance.

Music Camp on 17 – 21 July
This music camp is five fun days of beats, creativity, and cultural exploration, using various musical instruments for ear training and fine motor skills. The camp encourages creative exploration and cognitive development for a deeply enriching experience as kids learn how to read notes and improve perception and attention.

Introduction to Mindfulness on 24 – 28 July
Through yoga, breath work and Tai Chi for kids, this camp introduces mindfulness and movement to promote physical wellbeing and flexibility. It focuses on stress reduction, relaxation, improved concentration and the mind-body connection. Participants will build confidence and self-esteem, learn healthy posture, and correct body alignment while acquiring tools for stress management. This camp is ideal for kids entering exam years at school.

Arabic Language Camp on 31 July – 4 August
Through unlocking cultural connections, communications skills and global perspectives, this camp expands horizons by focusing on language acquisition and cultural immersion. Kids will learn basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar structure through interactive lessons and activities. The camp promotes cognitive development, celebrates linguistic diversity, and strengthens family connections, preparing children to thrive in this globally connected world.

Healthy Bites: Learn How to Prepare a Nutritious Lunchbox on 7 – 11 August
Nutrition and cooking classes are at the core of this camp as kids learn how to create balanced meals and snacks. By engaging kids in the kitchen, this camp educates them on nutritional benefits and offers a variety of tastes to suit different palates. With top tips for meal planning and school-friendly recipes, this camp is ideal for instilling positive eating habits in youngsters.
Age Group: 6 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years

Soccer Camp on 14 – 18 August
For unlocking potential on and off the pitch, this football camp will develop physical fitness, teamwork, and social skills. It aims to boost confidence, support cognitive development, and provide stress relief while planting the seeds for a lifelong love for physical activity and offering participants skills that extend well beyond the sports field.
Age Group: 6 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years

Building Emotional Intelligence on 21 – 25 August
Tailored for older children, this camp helps develop self-awareness and emotional management skills. Through discussions, debates, workshops and interactive sessions, participants will practice skills to improve empathy, learn effective communication, and develop conflict resolution skills. This summer camp will also help with self-development, expressing emotions, stress management techniques, conflict resolution, building positive relationships, goal setting and motivation, and cultivating a positive mindset. The summer camp is ideal to support teenagers as they begin to build a sense of identity and prepare for a healthy adulthood.
Age Group: 12 to 16 years

Camps start from QAR600 per day, inclusive of refreshments, lunch, and activities, and run every weekday, from Sunday to Thursday.

Accommodation is available for kids and families who wish to reconnect and experience a fully immersive wellness experience. Day access is also available for those who wish to commute from Doha.
