Souk Kitchen, located within the Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, serves a dinner buffet that excels in every respect.

It has eight stations serving hot and cold dishes across a broad section of cuisines including salads, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Arabic, British, and a very comprehensive selection of desserts.

One of my favourites was their carvery station, where I got some slices of the best roast beef I have had in a very long time. Cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, it literally melted in my mouth, and it was served with a delicious mushroom sauce that complemented it perfectly. To the roast beef I added cauliflower gratin, potato wedges and some ratatouille on my plate, there was a roast dinner that quite simply blew me away. I’d go back for another round of that any day of the week.

The good news is, I can actually go back and have it again literally any day of the week because the Souk Kitchen serves this dinner buffet seven days a week!

Although my roast beef plate was the highlight of the dinner for me, I must also give a shout out to the dishes that completed my experience – the plate of sushi that I started my meal with, the roast lamb and baked salmon available on their carvery station, the Shepherd’s pie, the beef stew, the Biryani and a lot more than I can enumerate! It’s like they knew exactly what I like and how I like it prepared before I arrived.

For dessert, I went for the Banana Crumble that came with a lovely vanilla sauce. There were so many other options I could have gone for including cakes, fruit and chocolate creations, but I seem to have slipped into a British theme for my dinner and a good crumble is as British as they come.

At QAR198 for adults and QAR98 for kids, this dinner buffet is worth every single riyal. The quality of the food far exceeded my expectations for such an attractive price. Happy belly, happy wallet!

Also here’s a tip for you – if you buy a pool and beach pass for QAR150, you can redeem that amount against food and beverages in the resort. Instead of using the QAR150 to buy snacks throughout the day, you can hold on to it and redeem it against the Souk Kitchen’s buffet dinner. Meaning, you can use the pool and beach all day long for QAR150 and then just pay an extra QAR48 on top of that for an amazing dinner buffet. What a bargain!
