Organised by the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, the Tunisian Cultural Festival is part of a series of cultural festivals aimed at building bridges of peace among countries of the world. The festival features cinematic, cultural, heritage, exhibitions and art performances.

The festival will open with the premiere of the movie Ghadwa, which will be followed by a panel discussion with the film lead, Tunisian actor Dhafer El AbidineGhadwa won the International Federation of Film Critics Award (FIPRESCI) during its presentation at the 43rd session of the Cairo International Film Festival. It also received praise from journalists and critics at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.

Classical Tunisian music, Malouf will also be part of the activities of the festival. Malouf is a type of classical music spread in the Maghreb, inherited by the North African countries from Andalusia. Each country has put its own mark on this high heritage art.

The festival also includes an exhibition of fine art, handicrafts and a poetry evening, which will be held in the creativity square. It will conclude with a show featuring Tunisian fashion and a performance by the Tunisian school choral. The closing ceremony will be held at the Katara Opera House.

Katara previously signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tunisian City of Culture to exchange visits and cooperation in launching joint projects. A delegation from the Tunisian City of Culture participated in the opening events for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021.
