The referees committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has selected five Qatari referees to participate in officiating the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™ matches due to kick off in Qatar from 15 April to 3 May 2024.

The selected Qatari referees are Abdullah Al Athba, Mohammed Ahmed Al Shammari, Faisal Eid Al Shammari, Zahi Sunaid Al Shammari, and Mishari Al Shammari.

The AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™ will witness 16 teams battling it out for the ultimate honour in four spectacular stadiums where plenty of drama and excitement are set to unfold.

The four venues set to host the tournament are Jassim Bin Hamad, Al Janoub, Abdullah Bin Khalifa and Khalifa International stadiums. This will be the first time that this tournament is played on FIFA World Cup venues.

The participation of the five referees in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™, which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics, comes after their distinguished levels during their participation in managing various local and continental competitions, most notably managing matches in the AFC Champions League or in joint Asian qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and AFC Asian Cup 2027.

Tickets for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024™ are on sale. Prices for group stage match tickets start at QAR15 and can be purchased online through the Hayya to Qatar mobile app. Spectators from outside Qatar can also purchase tickets from the same platform. Hayya will not be a mandatory prerequisite to enter stadiums. Fans will be able to download the tickets to their digital wallets, meaning that they don’t need Internet connectivity at the stadium. This creates both a seamless and paper free experience, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to delivering a sustainable tournament.
