The Youth Company’s annual Ramadan volunteer initiative ‘7asanat Olympics’ was again launched this Ramadan for the sixth year running, to reach out to thousands of people across Qatar. Their activities began on the first day of Ramadan and will conclude this week. This initiative was supported by GWC.

According to GWC Group CEO Ranjeev Menon said the main driver for the company remains the same – to continue their enthusiastic support for the local communities.

Our commitment to the success of the 7asanat Olympics remain as we continue our tradition of supporting the youth, entrepreneurship and volunteerism in pursuit of the QNV 2030 Social Development objectives.’

During the holy month of Ramadan, 70 volunteers joined a number of activities in support of local communities, including the distribution of Iftar boxes during Maghreb time, hospital visits to patients who cannot be with their families, and clean-up drives at a number of beaches in Qatar.

The volunteers also visited various community centres as part of their outreach, including the Muaither Residential Compound for the Elderly, Step by Step, Omega Center, and Hope Center for children with special needs. They also organised a Garangao festival.

The 7asanat Olympics is an annual Ramadan event that encourages youth volunteerism to help the disadvantaged as well as those who are fasting. To know more about this initiative, follow @theyouthcompany on Facebook.
