As part of its commitment to diversifying Qatar’s entertainment scene, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has launched Aperitivo Lungo, a new after-work experience available at the Italian award-winning restaurant, Porcini.

The aperitivo concept initially started in Turin, the Northern part of Italy in 1786 when a young distiller created a bitter drink boasting dozens of botanicals and then cleverly marketed it as the perfect before-dinner drink for ladies. Throughout the years, it has taken on a meaning on its own, beyond the drinks and nibbles; it is now part of the Italian culture.

Inspired by the Italian old-age tradition, it has been developed on property by Paride Noviello, Head Chef at Porcini Restaurant who wanted to bring this Italian trend to Qatar. Along with the head mixologist, they created a list of popular Italian signature drinks complimented with authentic Italian delights. To make the evening even more memorable, attendees can socialise while enjoying live musical performances featuring Italian inspired songs in a warm, cosy and classic atmosphere.

Aaron Martin, Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage, said:

At The Ritz-Carlton Doha, we are committed to continuously reviewing our concepts in order to ensure creating unique culinary experiences for our guests. This new implementation is an important pillar of our strategy to expand our offerings in Doha. In order to ensure an authentic journey, all our products are outsourced in Italy.’

Aperitivo Lungo is available daily, 6 pm – 8 pm at Porcini Restaurant. For more information, email [email protected] or call 4484 8000.
