The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is setting up a 150-bed field hospital, equipped with all the required equipment and supplies, in Qatar as part of its efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

In an infographic tweeted by Ashghal, it said that they are also setting up an 8,000-bed shaded facility to assist the public healthcare system deal with the COVID-19 situation.

Ashghal has also put in place numerous measures within its offices and work sites to reduce the chances of disease transmissions, including reducing its workforce physically present in offices to 20% and providing medical masks to workers and obliging them to wear them.

It has also banned the number of people using elevators in its offices to four at a time and installed thermal cameras in workers’ accommodations to monitor body temperatures.

The authority is encouraging customers to benefit from its E-services or contact the call centre at 188. Meanwhile, Ashghal has suspended services pertaining to dewatering and tanker permits for the next three months. Current permit holders may continue their operations without renewing an expired permit during this period.
