According to Captain Al Marri, the Traffic Law stipulates a number of ‘requirements’ for safe overtaking, including overtaking from the left, using car indicators, avoiding overtaking when the road is not fully visible and at pedestrian crossings.

He stressed that the Traffic Law prohibits motorists from driving very slowly, especially if such is not commensurate with the situation of the road, to avoid blocking the traffic flow which could lead to road accidents and chaos. He said that it is important to move vehicles from the scene in the event of any minor accidents, in order to prevent blocking the traffic flow and endangering the safety of other road users.
