Several buildings and landmarks in Qatar were illuminated in blue this Sunday, 2 April, to mark World Autism Awareness Day

World Autism Awareness Day is an initiative first proposed by Qatar Foundation Chairperson, HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to the United Nations in 2007 and has since been observed every year.

The 2015 building, also known as the Qatar Foundation headquarters was illuminated in blue, sponsored by Renad Academy, a specialised school under Qatar Foundation Pre-University Education (PUE) that supports children with autism.

Other buildings in Education City were also lit in blue such as the Education City Stadium, Sidra Medicine and Qatar National Convention Centre.
