We’ve found another way to spend a chill Friday afternoon in Doha: Mosaic’s BBQ lunch!

Barbeque has always been synonymous with weekends when family and friends spend an afternoon together, and everyone – except for the one doing the grills – will just sit back, relax and be pampered – and nourished – by an endless supply of grilled meat.

We did just that this Friday, at Mosaic restaurant of Mandarin Oriental, Doha. We had a preview of their Friday BBQ Lunch – where for QAR425 we get our pick of meat at their grill and rotisserie station plus everything else served in the restaurant’s different live cooking stations.

Eat as much as you can. Drink as much as you can and please, help yourself to their international selection of dishes to compliment the grills.

Start with an appetizing selection of sushi rolls, matched with a hearty serving of tomato soup. Have a plateful of grilled meat served at your table after having your pick from the live station. You can also ask for a plate of their seafood offering complete with freshly-shucked oysters, crabs, lobster and whatever else that takes your fancy.

Don’t be surprised to find the Chef de Cuisine, Chef Mervan Tekin checking in on you once in a while and offering caviar, something not so usual for a mid-day lunch.

Their dessert section serves tangy-flavoured gelato like mango and raspberry. Have it plain and leave the sprinkles and nuts to the regular flavours. You’ll not eat ice cream the same way after you’ve had these!

Finish off with a cup of black coffee, sweetened just enough to help you keep a tasty reminder.

The BBQ Lunch at Mosaic, Mandarin Oriental, Doha is served every Friday, from 12:30 pm to 4 pm. It features nine live cooking stations with BBQ specialities such as Wagyu Beef Roll, Braised Short Ribs and Prime Ribeye. QAR425 per pax, including soft beverages. You can also add an extra QAR175 and upgrade to an enhanced beverage package.
