The Croatian Business Council (CBC) was officially launched in Qatar at a ceremony held at Hilton Doha Hotel on 15 January. The launch ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries including HE Drago Lovrić, Ambassador of Croatia to Qatar.

The Croatian Business Council is a non-profit organisation founded by successful Croatian business entities in Qatar, and its aim is to improve Qatar-Croatia business relations and also to create a business networking platform for both countries. The council’s recently launched website has plenty of resources – business practices in Qatar and Croatia, information on tenders in Qatar, and more.

Croatian Business Council President Mario Lozancic and Member of the CBC Presidency Domagoj I. Cerovac gave introductory speeches at the ceremony. The event also included a presentation on the success stories of Croatian companies in Qatar, which ranges across a number of sectors, from construction and system solutions to household products and hospitality. Klimaoprema, Vertiv, Adria Scan, Analyticom, Anamil, Adriatic Kitchen, Qavanna Restaurant and The Croatian Technology & Business Association (CTBA) are just some of the organisations highlighted in the presentation.

Co-sponsored by the Croatian National Tourist Board, the ceremony was made all the more memorable by a performance by Croatian cellist Anna Rucner.

The event was attended by HE Salem Abdullah Sultan Al Jaber (Director of European Affairs Department), Ahmed Mohammed Al Afraj (European Affairs Department), diplomats and representatives of various Qatar business communities.
