What better way to kick off the weekend than a seafood buffet at a five-star property with an impressive spread that will leave you (and your belly) happy? If the idea sounds good, then you should try Marriott Marquis City Center Doha’s Hook N Roll Night at Crossroads Kitchen every Thursday!

As you walk into Crossroads Kitchen, you are welcomed by an open kitchen and a spacious dining area with sufficient number of tables that could definitely accommodate a busy evening. The food sections are dispersed in different corners of the restaurant, which I thought was great because it felt like being in a market with all your favourites and you just have to take a pick. In the middle, lies a huge (yes, huge) roundtable with every dessert you could possibly think of. There’s also live entertainment – a stunning lady in saxophone coupled with another lady with an amazing singing voice.

For starters, there’s a variety of cold mezze and salads, which, I have to say, are too tempting that you might end up trying all. Mind your servings, though, because you don’t want to be stuffed easily and miss the next courses.

Next to the salad station, you’ll find the poached section full of the ocean’s best – lobsters, crabs, mussels, shrimp, clams… and a make-your-own sauce on the side. There is also a sushi and sashimi station beside it.

Placed in the kitchen area are pots of interesting hot dishes like the Sweet Soy & Ginger Fried Fish, Chili Garlic Prawns, Gojuan Fried Chicken, and Mac & Cheese. Under the lamps are different kinds of pizza, dynamite shrimps, fish fingers, and potato wedges, all of which my little one liked so much. Yes, kids are welcome as the Crossroads Kitchen is very family friendly.

The best part, for me, is the live station with fresh seafood that the chefs can cook for you. I had lobster and shrimps that are so tender and juicy, you actually don’t need sauce anymore.

After my seafood market ‘shopping’, it’s safe to say I was stuffed but the dessert station was hard to resist – there were cakes, puddings, fresh fruits, tarts, and more. I wrapped up my meal with a slice of Strawberry Cheesecake and small bites of the Pecan Pie, which were *chef’s kiss*!

If you want to wrap up your week with a sumptuous dinner and you’re a seafood fanatic, you’re in for a treat at the Crossroads Kitchen’s Hook N Roll Night. Bonus points, you’ll get entertained, too.
