The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara continues to present a diverse selection of events and activities in its festive programme for the ongoing FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ with a remarkable presence of visitors, both local and foreign, of various nationalities, supporting the different World Cup teams.

The Katara Cultural Village is a distinguished tourist destination in Qatar, attracting World Cup fans, who see it as a magical place to enjoy and learn about different cultures through the diversity of facilities and the beauty of architecture. The artistic murals on the Katara buildings have become a favourite background for many to take selfies and photos.

 

Graffiti fan Joseph from France said he was very impressed by the murals and the sculptures and works of art that are scattered throughout the village. Mario from Argentina also finds the place magical and beautiful. He said they took a lot of photos, with people and with beautiful works of art. He said he also loved the architecture of the Cultural District, its view of the sea and the diverse and luxurious buildings.

Many visitors are expressing their happiness at visiting the cultural district, as it offers tourists an integrated tourism and cultural experience.

Naomi from Ukraine said she loves the art exhibitions and the way that the village presented the local culture, the local cuisines and the people of various nationalities she meets around the cultural district.

Katara Oud Center

Dr Najeeb Nazim

Katara Oud Center offers three daily sessions that are open to the public. According to General Supervisor Dr Najeeb Nazim, the sessions are free for the public to listen to and enjoy, featuring famous oud artists such as Siddiqui, Najib Nazim, Riad Boualem, Mohamed Al-Sulaiti, Faisal Al-Najm.

The group will also present two lectures on the history of the Oud, where they will discuss the various stages of its 5000-year history.

Aside from the sessions, the Oud Center also houses a distinguished exhibition of Oud instruments, a series of workshops, training courses and educational sessions for all ages focused on the oud instrument.

Football and sports engineering

Near the model of the largest sports shoe in the world, the Qatar Society of Engineers launched its own activation, Football and Sports Engineering, featuring a variety of activities for children and adults that assess the performance of football players. Parents can obtain a report about their children’s football future with simple tests using artificial intelligence (AI). The event is participated by many major sports institutions and companies including Paris Saint-Germain, Lusail Football Academy, Asura, and NSA Tech.

Rare watches

Building 46, meanwhile, currently hosts watchmakers and a set of distinguished and rare watches from international brands dating back to different periods of time. Watches of various types and kinds are on display here, including water-resistant watches, watches that are resistant to breakage, pocket watches, leather watch bracelets especially made for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, sports shirts with pictures of the Diwan clock, and paintings, books and clippings from old and new newspapers and magazines about watches.

Qatar 2022 books

Katara Publishing House is launching the publication of 22 books to celebrate the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ this week at Building 18.

Military parades

Visitors to Katara are also invited to watch a distinguished military show presented by the Military Show Center and the Qatari Armed Forces Music Battalion on the waterfront of the Katara Cultural Village. The performance is set daily, from 3:30 pm.
