DJWE organisers have announced that world-renowned clock-specialists Objectif Horlogerie will join DJWE this year, offering a unique, interactive workshop to attendees.

In Qatar for the first time, Objectif Horlogerie will showcase the art of their master craftsmanship to watch connoisseurs, and give them the rare opportunity to become a ‘watchmaker-for-a-day’. Workshop attendees will observe and participate in the master watchmaker’s rituals, and at the end of the session, each participant will be awarded an accredited diploma.

Established in Paris, Objectif Horlogerie, brings its ‘First Time’ workshop to Qatar, open to all levels. Under the expert guidance of the master crafstman, each apprentice will experience the indescribable emotion of mastering time. This introductory workshops reveals the secret life of a timepiece before it reaches the windows of the luxury stores… the parts that ensure a smooth mechanical movement and the time-honored handcrafting that is inherent to each piece.

These introductory workshops, which are just 1.5 hours long, present visitors with a fascinating insight to the precision and complexity of watchmaking. At the end of each session each participant leaves with a precious manual that summarizes the contents of the workshop, and a tutorial so they can continue to practice their new skills.

Aside from this exceptional opportunity for watches enthusiasts, the fourteenth DJWE presents more innovative visitor experiences to be unveiled throughout the exhibition.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a glimpse of the glamour of the past through historical black and white photography as, the Harcourt Studio, who have told the story of Hollywood’s biggest stars since the 1940s, will offer visitors the unique opportunity to have their portraits taken in the privacy of their studio, recreated outside Paris for the first time at DJWE.

DJWE will also provide outstanding local talents with the golden opportunity to showcase their collections side by side with international brands. The Young Qatari Designers, an initiative launched for the first time this edition, will allow emerging young Qatari designers to shine in a dedicated exhibition space. Exhibiting local talents include: Fajr Al Attiya (Trifoglio); Ghada Al Bouanain (Ghada Al Bouanian); Nada Al Sulaiti (Hairaat); Noor Al Fardan (Noudar); Nouf Al Meer (Nouf Jewellery); and Sarah Al Hammadi (Sarah’s & Co).

This edition will also reveal a central exhibition specially curated to showcase exceptional, privately-owned jewellery and timepieces that have never been shown in Doha before. It will also host for the first time the French Auction House Artcurial, who will provide visitors with free jewellery and watches valuations services.

Reinforcing the country’s position as a premium business events destination, the annual luxury exhibition welcomes over 400 hundred brands through 40 exhibitors from 10 countries, returning to showcase their striking gemstone and accessories at Doha Exhibition and Conference Center (DECC) in the heart of Doha’s business district.

Also taking part in this year’s exhibition are a number of Qatar’s premier jewellery patrons: Al Fardan Jewellery Company, Al Majed Jewellery, Al Muftah Jewellery, Ali Bin Ali group, Amiri Gems WLL, Blue Salon and Fifty One East.
