The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), recently participated in the 2018 Harvard Islamic Finance Conference as an Academic Sponsor.

The conference, which was held at Harvard University in the United States and hosted by the Harvard University Muslim Alumni (HUMA), attracted experts from around the world, and was aimed at engaging students, academics, and professionals in topics related to ethical commerce and the social aspect of finance.

The opening remarks were co-delivered by the Director of the Research Division at CIS, Dr Syed Nazim Ali, who is also an academic advisor to HUMA and a distinguished thought leader in the field of Islamic finance.

According to Dr Nazim, the conference has been an impressive venue for global scholars, experts, and practitioners in the areas of Islamic finance.

Aside from the opportunity to meet and discuss with other scholars and experts, delegates also got the opportunity to attend a number of plenary sessions on various topics related to Islamic Finance.
