Hamad International Airport (HIA) would like to advise its passengers departing during the peak Eid period to be sure to check-in online, arrive 3 hours prior to your flight and use the E-gates (if registered) to avoid queues and to continue enjoying comfortable and seamless travel through HIA.

Passengers traveling through HIA are reminded that check-in closes sixty minutes prior to departure. During security checks, passengers are also reminded to ensure they are not carrying any prohibited items such as liquids, aerosols, and gels and to ensure they pack any liquid containers in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag with each being 100ml or less. New baggage wrapping centres are also located near row 3 and 10 in the airport. Electronic items larger than mobile phones need to be removed from bags and placed in trays for X-ray screening. HIA also points out that small vehicles such as hoverboards that are powered by lithium batteries are prohibited for carriage and passengers are advised to minimise traveling with pets due to the holiday peak time.

To assist during the busy peak period with passengers returning from Eid holidays, and for the interest of passengers convenience and safety, access to the arrival and departure curbsides maybe be restricted to authorised vehicles only between the hours of 10:30 pm to 2 am between the 8 and 9 June 2019. Passengers are requested to proceed to the short-term car park during these busy peak periods.

Passengers departing from HIA are advised to download the ‘HIAQatar’ mobile app available for both Andriod and iPhone for updates and to assist making the passengers journey more seamless with real-time information about flight status, baggage claim, time and direction to boarding gates and food, beverage and retail offers from Qatar Duty Free (QDF).
