Doha-based Qatar Stories announced winners of JWALA Awards 2021, to celebrate and honour outstanding Indian women who excel in their chosen vocation. The award is part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, observed worldwide on 8 March.

Qatar Stories co-founder Balaji said that the JWALA Awards recognise, celebrate and honour extraordinary achievements by Indian women who make a noteworthy contribution in their chosen fields.

Many women excel in the shadows away from the limelight; these awards honour such women for their innovation, creativity and determination to succeed in their chosen vocation.

JWALA Awards encourage and celebrate women who make a difference in their community and inspire young women and girls to follow the greater goal of women empowerment and a better future for all.

Awardees

Qatar Stories named 13 extraordinary women who excelled in their respective fields this year. The winners include:

  • Lubuna Jeffin (Social Media)
  • Aarti Mahajan (Business, QTickets)
  • Milan Arun (Lifetime Achievement Award)
  • Tina Fernandez (Community Service)
  • Pramila Govind Lad (Healthcare – COVID-19)
  • Sushma Harish (Literature)
  • Arathi Jain (Special Recognition – COVID-19 Service).

According to Balaji, Qatar Stories will hold the JWALA Awards event after the Holy Month of Ramadan, subject to official COVID-19 safety protocols.
