The Qatar Golf Academy Junior Development Programme runs in 7 terms throughout the year. Each term consists of 4 coaching sessions, 1 hour and 30 minutes per week on the preferred day. The places are allocated to juniors who have previously taken part in the programme and on a first come first serve basis.
Age 5 – 10 (Guide)
Silver (previously Cyclone) is designed for children as young as 5 and develops the necessary movement skills associated with the game in a fun and exciting learning environment. It is the perfect way to introduce children to the game of golf.
Within the programme children will be guided through every aspect of the game by a PGA fully qualified instructor including specific golf movement skills, basic rules, etiquette and shot technique.
At the end of every 2 terms you will receive a report on the progress of your child to keep you informed on the activities and movements they have been working on and how they have improved and developed. At the end of every 2 terms each child will receive a certificate of completion to congratulate them on their participation and improvement.
Age 8 – 15 (Guide)
Gold (previously Smash) programme has been designed for juniors from the age of 8 who have taken part in the Silver junior golf programme or have been introduced to the fundamentals of the game previously. This programme has been designed to provide juniors with specific golf foundations and fundamentals. It will then focus on golf specific skills such as putting, chipping, iron play, etiquette, rules and many more. The programmes main focus is to ensure that the Juniors are ready to play on a golf course.
As each Junior progresses through the programme coaches will focus on their individual needs as a player and a person and focus on areas they believe can be improved further.
The children are categorised firstly by age but other factors such as ability, strength, previous golfing experience etc may result in a child moving groups. This is left up to the coach’s decision and will be discussed with the parents and the Academy Director before any action is taken.
2020 / 2021 Fees
Annual registration fee – QAR 500
Per Term (4 x 1.5 hour sessions) ~ QAR575
Siblings will recieve a 10% discount on course fee.
*Juniors taking part in the junior development programme qualify for discounts on range balls and individual lesson fees.
