IFP Qatar announced details of the 19th edition of Project Qatar, the largest and most prominent construction exhibition in Qatar. 

This year’s event will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Public Works Authority (Ashghal), from 29 May to 1 June at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

According to IFP Qatar General Manager Haidar Mshaimesh, this year’s edition of Project Qatar will host over 325 exhibitors from 25 different countries.

Qatar’s construction industry presents enormous prospects, particularly under Qatar National Vision 2030, the government’s strategic growth plan. The framework intends to transform Qatar into a self-sustaining diverse economy that is less dependent on oil.

With the assistance of the government, the event presents several opportunities for local and foreign contractors to expand across Qatar. In addition, there will be opportunities to attract foreign direct investments.

Mshaimesh said they are excited to meet top exhibitors and visitors from around the world who will be offering cutting-edge solutions for the industry.

Participants from 25 countries

Project Qatar will bring together participants from 120 international exhibitors from 25 countries, including eight official country pavilions and 200 local companies, led by government, semi-government and private sector companies.

Engineer Jarallah Mohammed Al-Marri, Director of the Building Projects Department at Ashghal, said that Ashghal will have a special pavilion to display their infrastructure projects.

Ahmed Mohammed Al-Sada, Director of the Office of the CEO and Public Relations Department of Qatari Diar, developer of the Lusail City project, said their participation follows their successful participation last year. They will be presenting their latest and most prominent projects around the world in this edition.

Twenty-five countries are participating in this year’s session, eight of which are represented by official national pavilions:

  • Public Authority for Industry (Kuwait)
  • Italian Trade Agency (Italy)
  • Ministry of Commerce (Turkey)
  • Trade Development Organisations (Iran, China, Russia, India, Pakistan)

The exhibition will also welcome international delegations from GCC countries and Turkey, Iran, India, China, and others. On a local level, this year also highlights the participation of Suhail Industrial Holding Group, the largest industrial company in the Qatari private sector.

Promoting local manufacturers

This year’s Project Qatar will present Qatar’s industrial manufacturing sector to promote products of local manufacturers, highlighting sector’s considerable expansion over the years.

The exhibition also addresses the future of construction sector in Qatar, highlighting technological innovations in the Smart District pavilion and a number of advanced technology providers with multiple uses in construction projects.

In addition to the exhibition, a conference will be held over four days to cover the most important topics in Qatar’s construction sector.

First day’s topic is titled Q Invest, which will cover the most prominent investment opportunities available in Qatar. Second day will focus on Q Industry, covering topics related to the development of industry and local production. Third day will be Q Tech, dedicated to discussing the role of smart technology in the construction sector. Q Green will be the main topic on the fourth day, and will address environmental challenges, sustainability and construction.
