What I know, and you instinctively know, if you are honest, is that when you drive in Qatar, especially in the hotter months, one of the sure ways to keep yourself happy and stress-free is to ride in a spacious, quiet, comfortable, air-conditioned, high-riding, powerful and all-terrain capable cabin – just, in fact, like a Chevrolet Silverado High Country.
Pick-ups are unrecognisable from those of just a few years ago. The spacious, luxurious comfort in a high-quality interior, with its contrasting double stitching, made driving the Silverado High Country a pleasure. I was most surprised to learn – and to feel – how the lane change warning system alerted me to my drifting. 200 kg lighter than their predecessors, and with GM’s new 10-speed automatic transmission it’s hard to believe how smooth and yet how responsive such a big truck can be.
There’s no better way to beat big city traffic blues – or to tame the wild, open country outside city limits. With such a huge space in the back, and with its own air-conditioning, bring the family along for the ride. They’ll love you for it!
