Students from the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently visited the library of the Minister of State, HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari

The Global MajlisThe visiting delegation comprised of faculty and students from the Master of Arts in Islam and Global Affairs (IGA) programme. During the visit, Dr Al Kuwari discussed aspects of his ministerial and diplomatic roles, and his nomination to serve as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Dr Al Kuwari highlighted the cultural diplomacy role played by Qatar since the 1990s in fostering dialogue and mediation, and receiving experts in diplomacy, culture, art, heritage and media. The meeting concluded with a dialogue session, during which students exchanged their views on international citizenship. The visit concluded with Dr Al Kuwari signing his book, ‘The Global Majlis’, for the students.
