The Ministry of Interior (MOI) won the Gold Award at the recent Qatar Digital Excellence Awards in the government sector for its Metrash2 app.

The award is given to the best government digital application for smart devices in terms of content, service, usage, design, functionality, app access, and user experience.

Digital Excellence for Metrash2 App 2The award was announced during a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications at The St. Regis Doha and attended by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif al-Sulaiti, and a number of senior government officials. The award for MOI was received by Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Farahid Al-Maliki, Assistant Director General of Information Systems.

The ceremony also included the graduation of new batches from the Qatar Digital Government Training Program that stems from the Qatar Digital Government strategy. The second batch, 17 graduates of Chief Technology Officers Training Programme and the third batch, 28 graduates of the IT Talent Training Programme were honoured. Several employees of MOI also participated in the programme.

Brigadier Al-Maliki said that the Ministry of Interior is proud that the Metrash2 app has been winning awards for mobile applications for ten consecutive years now, because it’s user-friendly and offers a number of services. More services will be added to the Metrash2 app in the near future.

Brigadier Al-Maliki shared that the Qatar Digital Government has provided the required training for government agencies, which contributes to raising the level of employee skills in the field of computer usage and information systems. The training programme enhances leadership skills related to electronic systems and solving electronic problems that help in employee performance.
