The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has inaugurated the Al-Enna Desert Camp in the Sealine area.

In collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, and Nomas Centre, among others, MoECC launched environmental “Al-Enna” awareness camp.

Open on weekends from 5 January to 3 February 2024, the camp offers diverse environmental awareness programmes for all community segments.

It features orientation sessions on security and safety for the winter camping season, highlighting MoECC guidelines for land camping, natural reserves, and sea coasts. Workshops focus on enhancing attendees’ skills, including first aid, crisis management, and fire safety, with the participation of a specialised civil defence team.

The camp’s activities encompass lectures to reinforce public awareness of the local environment, noting the importance of conserving Qatar’s biodiversity. Topics include climate change, adaptation methods, and sustainable development for the preservation of natural resources.
