At the heart of the iconic Msheireb Downtown Doha lies the luxurious and stylish urban retreat, the Mandarin Oriental, Doha. The hotel features a variety of dining gems that set the mood for a timeless dining experience. One of its renowned outlets is Mosaic – an all-day dining restaurant that caters to all palates.

Upon visiting the restaurant to experience their Business Lunch, we were greeted by a minimalist setting and atmosphere at Mosaic. The restaurant’s design reflects the Qatari desert and dunes, featuring decorative partitions and woven palm leaves that match the neutral colour palette, creating a relaxing ambience.

Upon our arrival, we were promptly escorted to our tables, where the staff greeted us with grace and smiles, displaying attentive and welcoming service to all guests. Although we opted to dine indoors due to the weather, the restaurant offers an outdoor terrace and balcony where guests can savour the mesmerising views of Barahat Msheireb, West Bay, and Corniche.

Their business lunch is priced at just QAR99 per person and includes your choice of starter, main course, and dessert. According to our server, the business lunch menus change weekly, providing guests with the opportunity to sample a variety of Mosaic’s signature dishes.

While waiting for the starters, we were served a selection of fresh bread accompanied by virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and butter. The bread was impeccably fresh and paired perfectly with the virgin oil and balsamic vinegar.

Following our enjoyment of the complimentary breads, we were delighted with a savoury surprise: fried wontons in chili garlic sauce, sure to awaken our palates. For starters, we were presented with crispy crab rolls and Caesar salad. True to its name, the crispy crab roll offered a delightful crunch in every bite. The salad proved to be a gem, boasting the perfect balance of veggies, dressing, and some anchovies.

Transitioning to the main courses, we were presented with mushroom risotto, generously topped with chives and mushrooms for a perfectly balanced flavour. The second main course featured Kung Pao Crispy Chicken served with steamed rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside and complemented by the crunchy exterior of the dish. Both main courses melted in the mouth and offered delightful flavours, enhancing the overall dining experience.

And no business lunch would be complete without a harmonious blend of sweet flavours. We were presented with Umm Ali – infused with water and milk and garnished with almond flakes, shredded coconut, and whipped cream. Additionally, we indulged in gelato (vanilla, pistachio, and chocolate), making it the perfect conclusion.

Mosaic’s business lunch offers an optimal opportunity to enhance your midday dining experience. Each dish is meticulously crafted with creativity and consideration, ensuring guests are delighted with a harmonious fusion of flavours.
