The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is pleased to announce the appointment of Ivan Acosta Leon as its new Food and Beverage Director, as well as that of Anna Hill as its new Director of Rooms.

ritz-carlton ivan costaIvan brings over a decade of experience from all over the world. Most recently, Ivan was the Director of Food and Beverage at Seven Pines Resort in Ibiza, Spain, where he managed over 105 colleagues in the food and beverage division.

Ivan received a Bachelor’s in Hospitality and Hotel Management from Thames Valley University in the United Kingdom, he then embarked on a colourful career which took him all over the world before arriving in Qatar. Ivan has worked in food and beverage within the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in the United States and his career has even taken him to the internationally recognised Burj Al Arab in Dubai, where Ivan was the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

Ivan brings a wealth of experience to The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, especially during a pivotal time as the hotel is undergoing it’s re-imagination process which will have it welcome internationally acclaimed food and beverage outlets to the property, such as B Lounge by Buddha Bar and, the recently opened and celebrated, chic American steakhouse, STK.

Numerous properties Ivan has worked at have received multiple awards and recognition during his tenure within their food and beverage departments.

Ivan is very excited to be here in Qatar for the first time and join The Ritz-Carlton, Doha while it becomes the premier food and beverage destination in the country. He looks forward to working with the talented Ritz-Carlton team and creating exciting dining and entertainment options that create personalised spaces for residents and visitors of Qatar to come and enjoy.

He said:

I love the STK concept, the journey begins when you enter the STK elevator then ascend to where you are welcomed by the sign Dare to be, then you go into the restaurant and can behold one of the best views in the country. The restaurant also offers great food and presents many Latin American fusions. I am looking forward to working with the food and beverage scene that The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is developing.’

Anna Hill

Ritz-carlton anna hillAnna has enjoyed a 12-year career in the hospitality industry and has progressively taken up more senior positions throughout her career.

Anna completed her degree in Hospitality Management in 2006 from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and began working in Spain where she first joined The Ritz-Carlton brand. Anna’s career has evolved and she has managed several different departments in various properties.

Anna joined The Ritz-Carlton, Doha in 2013 as the Director of Club Lounge and has then moved on to manage different areas of the hotel.

Anna has been the recipient of several awards during her tenure at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha. She has received both Front of House Leader International recognition within Marriott Company and was the Five Star winner of Leader of the Year at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.

In Anna’s new role as Director of Rooms, she is responsible to coordinate and organise all of the administrative functions in the rooms division, ensuring total compliance with standards of operation and formulating strategic plans.
