The National Tourism Council (NTC) is leading the country’s delegation of public and private sector partners to the World Travel Market (WTM) 2018 at ExCel London this week. WTM is a leading event in the global travel trade industry.

The Qatar pavilion showcased key developments in Qatar to the international travel trade, creating connections between the global market and the various hotels, destination management companies and members of the country’s tourism industry. Qatar Ambassador to the UK, HE Yousef Ali Al Khater also visited the NTC stand at the WTM on the opening day where he met with various partners exhibiting from Qatar.

Spread over 385 square metres, the double-deck stand features a special Football Zone managed by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which will introduce visitors to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ and the various hosting pillars that will ensure a unique tournament experience for visitors of Qatar in 2022.

The stand also included a special National Museum of Qatar Zone showcasing the iconic museum model, and a special zone for the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019. A majlis for media and trade partners is available as venue for discussions, and a gallery was set up to introduce Qatari culture to exhibition visitors.

NTC has been successfully maintaining interest in the UK travel market for Qatar as a premium destination. Figures show that British visitors to Qatar increased by 20% in September 2018 compared to September 2017.
