The 14th edition of the International Exhibition for Homeland Security and Civil Defense – Milipol Qatar 2022 – successfully concluded last week, with the date for the next edition set on 29 to 31 October 2024.

Milipol Qatar Committee Chairman, HE Major General Nasser bin Fahd Al-Thani, confirmed that the 14th edition recorded deals worth QAR592 million and was visited by over 11,500 visitors. This edition also attracted 222 exhibitors from 22 countries, with 60% of the exhibitors participating for the first time. These first-timers came from Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Croatia, Finland, India, The Netherlands and Slovakia.

Many of the participants expressed their willingness to again join the next edition in 2024. Major General Al-Thani confirmed that communication is currently underway to sign partnership contracts with these companies, which are mainly specialised in cybersecurity.

Milipol International Events Director Francois Jullier stressed the importance of the event in the region to bring together the major players in the homeland security and civil defence industries and serve as a platform to create connection.

This year’s edition was also distinguished by its inclusion of security equipment, civil defence, anti-drone technology and firefighting, sectors on technical solutions, safe management of major events, combating trans-border cybercrime, which is evolving and proliferating, in addition to new ‘generations’ of threats.

Jullier expressed his admiration for the efforts of the country’s Ministry of Interior for organising such an important event, and for providing all means of support to exhibitors, creating an atmosphere conducive for closing of deals and agreements.

Milipol Qatar, which is organised every two years, allows companies to showcase their latest innovations in various sectors of security, civil defence, defence solutions and equipment including security and communications technology, rescue and law enforcement products, communications software and security sector innovations.
