Qatar Museums is pleased to announce its participation in the 32nd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from 12 to 21 June, offering the public an opportunity to experience the transformative power of literature, art and museums. 

In this year’s edition of DIBF, the Qatar Museums booth will serve as a dedicated space for visitors to explore a wide selection of new titles, award-winning publications and unique art catalogues that delve into topics such as history, architecture, archaeology, orientalism, modern and Islamic art, sports, and captivating children’s stories.

Their recently released titles include

  • Museum of Islamic Art: The Collection
  • Museum of Islamic Art: The Guide
  • On the Move: Reframing Nomadic Pastoralism
  • Baghdad: Eye’s Delight, Beirut and the Golden Sixties
  • Labour of Love: New Approaches to Palestinian Embroidery
  • Art Mill Museum 2030
  • Taysir Batniji: Untitled (Portraits of Martyrs)
  • The Great Mongol Shahnama
  • A Small Glitch in the World (a children’s story inspired by traditional Palestinian embroidery)

According to Qatar Museums Publications Director Randa Takieddine, their annual participation in the Doha International Book Fair highlights their belief in the power of books to inspire individual creativity and understanding and build bridges between people and cultures.

We are very proud of the wide variety of exceptional publications that we will be showcasing this year and we look forward to sharing them with all the art and history lovers in Doha.

In addition to a wide range of publications, Qatar Museums will hold several activities, including book launches and interactive workshops, as well as book discussions at the main Book Fair theatre.

Organised under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, the 2023 Doha International Book Fair is expected to attract an unprecedented number of international publishers and participants.
