The session saw Qatar Museums Chairperson HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani discuss her recent publication The Power of Culture, which tackled not only the achievements of Qatar Museums but also the achievements of the whole of Qatar when it hosted the FIFA World Cup™ – the first Arab nation to do so. According to HE Sheikha Al Mayassa, many men and women played a significant role to make the international event a reality, and it changed the world’s perception of Qatar.

Read to Lead

The Read to Lead event served as a platform for participants to share their perspectives on leadership, with a broad range of experiences drawn from diverse sectors.

The event also successfully underscored the critical role of libraries, museums and creative hubs in creating platforms for inspiration, innovation and creativity, demonstrating the power to bring artists, architects, writers, designers, and creators together to maximise their impact and expand the potential for achievement on the local and international stage.

The initiative seeks to foster a proactive and positive work culture in Qatar, harnessing the transformative power of reading. This is achieved by equipping participants with new knowledge to pass on to others, thereby strengthening the leadership capacity and development of the Qatari workforce.

Read to Lead is a testament to the commitment of Qatar’s leaders to enhance their leadership skills, build robust networks, and contribute to Qatar’s social progress through reading.

The programme will continue to offer influential events to nurture a dynamic culture of reading, leadership and knowledge sharing in Qatar.
