New and returning students who are starting or continuing their journey of learning at Education City gained an insight into how Qatar Foundation’s unique education ecosystem supports them every step of the way – at Tawasol 2023.

Organised by Qatar Foundation’s Student Life team, the fair showcased the world of resources available to students at Education City as the new academic year gets into full swing. These resources include healthcare, sports and recreation, housing services, student employment opportunities, and other aspects of life within the Qatar Foundation community.

Tawasol also provided another chance for students from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and seven partner universities, which collectively offer 65 academic programmes spanning undergraduate and postgraduate studies, to make new connections and friendships.

Over 4,000 students – half of whom are Qatari – of over 100 nationalities are enrolled in universities at Qatar Foundation in the 2023-2024 academic year, including more than 1,100 new students.

Since 2019-2020, enrolment in QFuniversities has increased by over 20%.

Commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates

The academic and personal growth experience that Education City offers also allows students to cross-register for courses at different universities under Qatar Foundation, take interdisciplinary programmes and participate in research projects and international exchange opportunities aimed at nurturing graduates equipped for impactful careers and are also ‘socially aware’ citizens.

According to Francisco Marmolejo, President of Higher Education at Qatar Foundation, they are committed to providing every student with a world-class, unique and flexible learning experience that prepares them, when they graduate, to be leaders capable of shaping the communities they live and work in.

He said that their students are part of the QF community and the QF family, and within and beyond the lecture hall or the laboratory, they support them in both their studies and in every aspect of their lives.

As well as gaining an education that stands in comparison with any in the world, they have access to opportunities, resources, activities, and networks that make studying with Qatar Foundation more than simply the pursuit of a degree.

It is a gateway to exploration and personal discovery, and the place where our students develop a strong sense of responsibility and commitment toward the community.
